It's not detracting to the map or the effort though and comparing 1.5 to 2.5 Caucasus is like apples to oranges, the model count is still way way way higher of a magnitude of ten times. But at this time, the Caucasus map was not going as far East as today and all the Tbilissi area was missing. Long time ago, someone as dedicated as Flappie made a high definition map of DCS Caucasus called TC-1 that is still on my wall. Having said all that, yes it's clear there is town removal. Thats where the discussion with Flappie started. I am not sticking up for ED because i'm some ridiculous fanboy, i'm mostly the opposite, but I believe the map gets all the right things in there and is in the spirit of the area for what it represents on a completely different tech that has higher detail. I agree its a lot thinner, you would have to wonder with the different object types if putting more in would have been rejected in order to keep the performance on a par? I've not gone round counting lamp posts or fire extinguishers and so on, but with NTTR and Normandy those low level features you dont notice are all getting seperate collision and destruction. The thing is, the relative object count has massively gone up, since the things like lamp posts and placed objects weren't there in 1.5 and were just sprites.
